Taylor Lautner's Prep For 'Abduction' Includes: Training For Fights, Motorcycles And Bodies Of Water

We’re all familiar with the amount of training that went into sculpting Taylor Lautner’s heavenly body for the “Twilight Saga,” but you may not know that Taylor is hitting the gym once again in preparation for his upcoming role in “Abduction.”

But this time around, he doesn’t need to gain more muscle — instead he’s using his workouts to help him in other aspects of the movie, which will be full of action and stunts. "I did boxing training for a couple months," he told MTV News during the "Eclipse" junket. "Now I'm into the fight training, motorcycle, I think when I get to Pittsburgh, do a little swimming training. It's all around. It's going to be a lot of fun."

So does this mean that we’ll be seeing more of Taylor’s tight abs? Well Lily Collins, his co-star, recently told MTV News that she certainly seems to think so, while teasing, “everyone would totally hate [seeing his abs], right?” We’ll have to wait and see!

But joking aside, Taylor is quick to clarify that the most central part of “Abduction” is the great story. “I love action, but most important is the story,” he explained adding, “and the story behind this action thriller is amazing.”

So what’s the highly anticipated plot? “Abduction” tells the story of a young man, who sets out to find his birth-parents after stumbling upon his baby picture on a missing-person’s website. But he soon finds himself caught in a world of action, spies, and stunts.

Not only does the film have a great story, but Taylor is so happy to be working with great talent. “We got [director] John Singleton behind us. ... I'm so thankful we're getting a cast like that”.

For Taylor Lautner, putting on 30 pounds of muscle for Twilight: Eclipse wasn't purely cosmetic; it was a necessity for the job!

Lautner, 18, says his arms were burning after one particularly grueling day when he had to carry around Kristen Stewart in his arms for hours shooting retakes.

"There's a scene where I'm carrying [Kristen], and it's also, like, four pages of dialogue," Lautner told MTV. "So I'm carrying her, and we're walking through the woods, and I'm talking to her, and it's a pretty intense talk."

'IT WAS SO HARD'

He added: "We actually had plans, a rig that was basically going to carry her, and I was just going to pretend that I was carrying her. We got there on the day, and the rig didn't look very natural. They were like, 'What are we going to do?' and I'm like, 'I'll just carry her. She's like, what, 110 pounds? It's no big deal!' "

Unfortunately, Taylor wound up shooting and re-shooting that scene all day long so that by the end of the day, he was exhausted.

Our "Twilight" specialist Yvonne Villarreal caught up with the "Twilight" wolf-pack actors who, no surprise, howl in protest when someone suggests that Team Edward is best.

Team Edward or Team Jacob?

It's no contest, at least not according to the actors who portray the lupine brethren of Jacob, the werewolf played by beefy heartthrob Taylor Lautner in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” which hits theaters June 30.

Chaske Spencer, the 35-year-old actor who plays wolf-pack elder Sam Uley, says brooding vampires -- like Robert Pattinson's forever-conflicted Edward Cullen -- pale in comparison to a strapping, loyal forest boy like Jacob.

“Have you seen him?" Spencer asked with a chuckle. "He’s got that sex appeal going. He’s got the body. He’s the boy next door. But he can also rip your head off."

Spencer added: "He’s a protector. What more could a girl ask for?”

In the third installment of "The Twilight Saga," the vampires of the Cullen clan join forces with their hirsute enemies, the wolf pack, after an army of newborn vampires goes on a bloody tear in Seattle.

Amid the chaos, Bella, played by Kristen Stewart, must choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob.

It's a no-brainer, say the shape-shifters who always wear their hearts on their sleeves -- even if they don't wear shirts. Their wolf-brother Jacob, they say, is the one Bella should keep at her side.

"He’ll treat her good, he’ll take care of her," says 25-year-old Alex Meraz, who plays the hairy and hot-tempered Paul. "He’s cuddly when he turns into a wolf … unless he’s mad. But he can control it! He's a good friend. Why would you want someone who is conflicted and doesn’t know if they love you or not? It’s like a love-hate relationship — ‘I love you, but I don’t want to hurt you.’ Instead you can have someone who is legit and is down to do anything for you. It’s like, 'Momma would be happy.' Jacob is someone you can take home to Mom.”

I've just learned that Taylor Lautner is now being paid per ab. That's right, the 17-year-old co-star of the Twilight Saga franchise who's famous for his buff physique that is making girls scream when he takes off his shirt in New Moon, is getting $7.5 million for his next pic. It's called Northern Lights, a Tom Cruise vehicle to be directed by John Moore (Max Payne) with a start date of April 1st. The logline says the pic is about "a gifted, young, aerobatics pilot who faces off with his controlling, billionaire father and falls in love with a gifted, female pilot). It's being made by David Ellison's new company Skydance Productions, and Paramount has a first look at his development. That shitload of money negotiated by WME now makes Taylor Lautner into the highest paid Hollywood teenage actor around. (I'm told that neither Zac Efron nor Miley Cyrus have ever gotten a salary even close to that for their films. Amazing!) So the question is whether Paramount, which is in the Taylor Lautner business in a big way with the recently announced Max Steel, will pony up an even huger salary for the teen who'll be starring as the title lead in their own upcoming blockbuster.

'New Moon' Star Wants Fans to Design Wolfpack Tattoo

"Twilight" fans have always wanted to sink their teeth into the cast -- and now they have the chance to leave their mark.

"New Moon" star Chaske Spencer (Sam Uley) and the actors of the wolf pack are considering getting tattoos, and Spencer says fans can help design the art!

"I might not do this, but if you send in suggestions about a tattoo design that the boys and I could get, that would be great," Spencer tells "Extra." "I can't make any promises, but we are looking for suggestions."

Spencer, 34, says the pack -- Alex Meraz, 24, Kiowa Gordon, 19, and Bronson Pelletier, 23 -- have "talked about it... I don't know if it's going to be an actual wolf pack tattoo; we might just design something ourselves. But we're definitely going to get something because this is a pretty life-changing experience."

As for Taylor Lautner's ink? "We might have to convince him. We might have to hold him down and tattoo him," he jokes.

Oh man! I want to help design! I'd want to change it a bit more because NOW the wolfpack tattoo design is on beanies and shirts and packing tape. EVERYWHERE. I wouldn't want them to have the same design at that...
